Ramblings of Lulu

I went to watch the Da vinci code last night against my better judgement. I had read the book a few years ago and I wasn't really that impressed with it. Though I did enjoy the whole conspiracy thing... I love things like that!!

Anyway I went to watch the film like I said and I was plesantly supprised... it does differ from the book in places but you do tend to find this with adaptations anyway.

Personally I thought all the leading actors played their parts really well Tom Hanks and Ian Mckellen were great and so was Audrey Tautou... Paul Bettany played the scary monk guy really well "Silas"... and you got to see his butt.. several times.. not that pretty!!!

But what is worth going to see is the cinamatography and special effects... i thought they pulled it off really well... especially when they go back into the past with their stories.. There is one scene when Robert Langton and Sophie Neveu are on their way into the church discussing Issac Newtons funeral and kind of superimposed over them is this funeral procession.. I thought it was really effective and therer were a couple of over moments like that.. that made the film worth watching...

Also if you are anything like me and love art... Then the beautful night shots of the louvre will just make you want to go and visit it... which I am going to do next year I think.. I have wanted to go for a while but I am going to stop putting things off and go...

Don't you just think this is the sexist picture of Johnny Depp ever... Oh yeah!!!

Finished reading the last book of the Dreamers on Friday night and I hate to say it but i was really really disappointed with the Ending. I never thought I would be so disappointed over a David Eddings book/series.

In my mind their was so many different possiblities that could have occurred.. but with this book it just felt as though he was rushing to finish it...

I feel very sad that it felt like that.. i hope if david and his wife do another series of books they will be more carefully thought out than the dreamers series...

Oh well!!!

Today i brought a book all about pirates of the Caribbean - curse of the black pearl and ceadmans chest.... and deadmans chest looks like so much fun!!

It explains things about the first film... such as the compass Jack Sparrow carries... It doesn't point north because it was given to him by a voodoo priestess and it points the holder to where ever... he/she wants to go...

But Spoilers for the second are as follows: (i am not going to tell you everything as I don't want to ruin the whole film for you)

Will Turner is going to be arrested on his wedding day to Elizabeth Swan...

Then Elizabeths father is going to be arrested too...

Then Will is going to be kidnapped by cannibals.. who have declared jack sparrow as their Leader.. but who also intend to eat him...

Norrington is going to be fired from the Navy for becoming obsessed with jack sparrow (like us all)... and becomes a drunk...

And the Deadmans Chest is where Davey Jones keeps his heart...

So there are some tasters... i would tell you more but I don't want t get the blame for ruining the movie for you xxx

The Dreamers series is based around the Isle of Dhrall where four gods keep watch over the island..
Dhalphine (North)
Aracia (east)
Zelena (west)
Veltan (south)

That-Called-The-Vlagh, an evil insect inhabiting the desert centre of the continent is trying to take over the world starting with the island of Dhrall.

Each god has a dreamer.. who is their alternative god... but are in the form of children! (confused yet)

To stop That-called-the-vlagh each god gets a group of outlanders to help them fight the creatures of the waste land.

It is a good series with some great characters my favourite being Longbow closely followed by rabbit..

At the moment I am reading the forth and Last book in The Dreamers Series by David and Leigh Eddings.. Titled The Younger Gods...

I am nearly at the end of it and for the most part I have enjoyed it... It isn't as good as The Belgariad series but in alot of ways it is very similar...

For those of you that haven't read it yet but intend too.. I won't put in any spoilers.. except I am quite shocked that Eddings has just killed off one of the characters in it... and that another one has changed completely from the last book!!

I know that they are trying to tie the whole story up as this is the last book but I cant help feeling that they should have introduced alot of what is going on here in the third book - The crystal Gorge - Personally i didn't enjoy the crystal gorge that much because it felt like they kept repeating the same story but through other characters eyes to fill up time... When now as I read this one they should have expanded more on what is going on in this one...as it seems a little rushed in places... (This is really hard to write without putting in spoilers)...

When I have finished the book I will let you know if the ending is worth reading!!! xxx

Without sounding as though I hate it... I dont.. I really dont... its just i am on my Final Major project or as it is known in the Art School "FMP".. it is a 10 week project and i am on my last week... but I am just so sick of it now...

I just want to draw and create things for fun instead of having to come up with reasons like.. why I am doing it? and what would happen if I did it this way...???

Well I am nearly at an end now.. and my final piece is rubbish but i don't care anymore... I am stressed out and tired!!!

Okay TylerandJack I will try and list ten fictional fantasies but - please don't judge me!!! This isn't in order its just who I can think of off the top of my head... xxx

I don't know who the hell I am goin to tag though??

1. Jack Sparrow - Come on he is drunk 99.9 % of the time but OMG he is still the sexiest pirate ever... Plus his character is played by Johnny Depp huge bonus...

2. Legolas - not Orlando Bloom.. I totally mean his character the elf.. there is something very appealling about him.. and i just love his hair... and the way he runs.. which lets face it he spend most of the time doing... He is the strong silent type xx

3. This is Cliche I know but Mr Darcy - I will go with the Colin Firth version but even without an actor his character in the book is sooooooooo.... "she swoons"!! Tall Dark handsome... Rich.. works for me!!

4. I am struggling now... Anakin Skywalker in the last film Revenge of the Sith... The film was not brilliant but there was something about that guy that made it worth watching.. esp on the big screen xx

5. Chandler Bing - Friends... He seems like a nice funny down to earth though slightly messed up guy... But I wouldn't say no..lol!!!

6. Silk _ Prince Khelder from the Belgariad Series he just makes me laugh...

7. Okay I am going to have to say it "THE DOCTOR" - Probably more christopher Eccleston than any other.. but there is just something very attractive about a man who can travel through time and saves the earth and universe on a regular basis...

8. I have been sittng here for ten minutes trying to think of someone and I have come up with The guy from Everafter...Prince Henry acted of course by dougrey scott.. he may not really be that nice.. and abit spoilt but he does the right thing in the end...

9. Black Prince Edward - James Purefoy from a knights tale... no reason really...

Arghhhhhhh... this is reall hard....

10. Erm.. Richard Sharpe - played by Sean Bean.. there is just something about a man in Uniform what can i say xxx

So which one is your favourite Doctor?? just out of these two.. I know that their have been eight predessors but I am only offering it out of these two!!

I loved christopher Ecclesons portrayal of the docter and I was really disappointed that he only did one series... I wish he had continued and done the second series... It has taken me a while to get used to David Tennant... Not because i think he is a bad actor because i think his acting is fab.. he seems to put everything into it.. but just because he wasn't like any of the other doctors... he has completley taken the role.. threw it up in the air and has created a whole new doctor... and now I have got used to him... I think he is great...

I only have one question...

Why does he put Glasses on to look at a computer screen???

This is how I feel today... Dont you just hate it!!!
